Paintless Dent Removal for small dings, creases and hail damage is an elegant and highly cost effective solution to minor blemishes that avoids using a bodyshop, fillers and paint. It is a highly refined skill but can be summarised as "pushing the dent out". Larger problems may need to be blown out under heat and a skilled hand in the bodyshop.
Scratch removal, depending on the depth of the scratch can be done by machine polishing, touch up paint/filling or respraying the panel. As a rule of thumb, literally, machine polishing can fully remove scratches only to the depth that they don't catch your thumbnail as you run it across the scratch. Deeper scratches require one of the other methods, with the worst having to go to the bodyshop for a full respray.
